Here's what no one tells you about scaling a small business: at some point, you have to choose between staying small or building the infrastructure that lets you grow without losing your soul.
We're choosing the latter.
Our lab build-out is nearly complete. Next up: securing GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and MOCRA (Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act) certifications. These aren't just bureaucratic checkboxes - they're what allow us to scale production safely, maintain the quality our customers expect, and meet the regulatory standards that come with being in 300+ stores and launching with a retailer like Ulta.
If we're going to do this right, we need systems. We need traceability. We need to be able to say with certainty that every product that leaves our hands meets the same standard, whether it's going to a small shop in Hudson or a distribution center like UNFI shipping to national grocery.
But infrastructure isn't just about certifications and production lines.
This spring, we're building out a medicinal garden to the side of our Hudson store. Not as a gimmick, not as an Instagram moment, but as a living, working space where we can grow some of our own ingredients, host community workshops, and teach people what regenerative farming actually looks like up close.
I want people to see where their skincare comes from or at least parts of it. I want kids to learn about plants with us and our resident herbalist Emma who joined the team full time back in Dec. I want our neighbors to feel like they're part of this, not just customers but collaborators in something bigger. Better yet I want the local community to be able to come sit during their lunch break and see something beautiful and feel grounded.
And then there's the store itself...
We're opening our first brick-and-mortar location in Hudson on March 21st, 2026.. We are timing this with the Spring Equinox. Intentional timing, obviously. This isn't just a retail space. It's our flagship. Our home base. The place where we make everything behind the doors that we sell. A place where people can come in, smell the products, talk to us directly, take a class, and feel what it's like to support a brand that actually operates the way we say we do.
We're launching exclusive products there - new candles, linen sprays, room diffusers, notebooks, hair brushes things we've been working on behind the scenes.
Building a business that can grow without breaking requires knowing when to delegate, when to invest, and when to trust that the foundation you've built is strong enough to hold the weight of what's next.
We're there.
If you're in the Hudson area, you're invited to our grand opening on March 21st.
Come see what we've built. Come meet the team. Come be part of the future of regenerative beauty.
