Hudson Valley Magazine profiled our roots in My Neighbor's Tallow Crafts Natural, Soothing Skincare in Hudson, tracing the path from a Wall Street career to a kitchen experiment to a growing Hudson Valley brand.
After leaving Wall Street on maternity leave to care for her daughter Wilhelmina, Harri and her partner relocated to the Hudson Valley for a quieter, more community-focused life. "We wanted to raise our daughter where the natural beauty and community-focused lifestyle were more readily available," she says. "As a new mother, I sought out ways to simplify life and prioritize natural, sustainable living wherever I could."
It was around that time that Wilhelmina developed eczema, and Harri couldn't find a commercial option without chemical fillers, so she made her own.
The piece also looks ahead: new products like Luna Balm and Arnica Mountain Daisy tallow, a collaboration with fellow female-founded, Windham-based brand Mask Skincare, and continued growth of wholesale partnerships. As Harri put it, "Our goal remains to nurture our connection to the land and community, ensuring that every product we create honors the beauty and bounty of the Hudson Valley."
